Outsourcing Your Technology Website
When technology companies need to launch a Website, they turn to Fig Leaf Software. As a technology company, Fig Leaf understands the challenges faced by organizations who are experts in their field.
Small and medium sized technology companies who are focused on growth often can't afford to dedicate valuable internal resources to design and build a new Website. We call it "The Shoemaker's Children Syndrome" which, refers to a proverb about a shoemaker who was so busy making shoes for his customers that he didn't have time to make shoes for his children. Two recent Fig Leaf customers come to mind: Iconixx Software and LCG Systems.
Wordpress was the preferred platform because it offered the Iconixx marketing team a familiar, easy-to-use content management system which, will allow the rapidly growing staff to easily add and maintain site content. In addition to developing a new identity for Iconixx, Fig Leaf created print templates and trade show graphics to give the company an elegant and professional online and offline brand. Read more about the Iconixx project in our Iconixx case study.
LCG Systems provides IT solutions for government agencies focused on health services, based in Rockville, Maryland. Members of the LCG team attended Fig Leaf Software's certified Acquia Drupal training to ramp up their skills for one of their government agency clients. Meanwhile, the company was in the midst of a corporate redesign for www.lcgsystems.com but quickly realized that the organization would benefit from hiring a qualified Drupal Consulting Firm to implement their new design. Thus allowing LCG to direct internal resources to service their federal government customers.
LCG delivered design files to the Fig Leaf team to implement in the Drupal CMS. Fig Leaf started by taking the desktop and mobile designs delivered in Photoshop and creating an HTML/CSS prototype to demonstrate the new responsive design that would be developed in Drupal. Upon approval by LCG, Fig Leaf leveraged the HTML/CSS prototype assets to rapidly implement the new site in the Drupal CMS. Read the LCG Systems case study.
The value proposition in both of these examples is clear: Allow experts to focus on tasks that they are great at, so you can focus your company expertise on your business. You will want to assign a project liaison from your company to help drive the project and facilitate internal decision making process on key deliverables (such as design elements or functionality requirements), but otherwise, the benefit of hiring a consultant to design and implement your business's technology Website is that you can focus your creative and technical resources on improving your product or servicing your customers. When your new site launches, you can reap the benefits of the new design and convert Web leads to customers.
